Nagpur: Three people have been arrested for allegedly killing criminals in the city of Nagpur Maharashtra and throwing his body into the nearest river, the police said on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Khan aka Chhota Ibrahim (22), they said.
There were several criminal cases registered against Ibrahim, including murder, efforts to kill, robbery, and attacks at various police stations.
He was also recommended from Nagpur and ordered under Maharashtra’s prevention of dangerous activities (MPDA), a police officer said.
On Saturday, a young man told the police that Ibrahim had been killed by several people.
“Based on the tip-off, the police took one Sonu aka Imran Ahmed Ali (25) into detention.
After that, Mohammad Rashid Rafad Shaha (25) was called to ask.
According to the information provided by them, Ibrahim’s body recovered from the Kanhan River, around 25 km from Nagpur, around 8pm on Saturday, “said Inspector Sanjay Jadhav from the Yashodhara Nagar police station.
Then, along with Sonu and Rashid, the police arrested Shamim Tiger Ansari (24) for the murder of Ibrahim.
They told the police that they had killed Ibrahim on August 4 after a fight with him and threw away his body into the river, he said.
The defendant’s trio was produced in court, who sent them to police custody until August 13.
