Nagpur: Nagpurian has paid nearly RS4.64 Crore as fine for FLOUTING Covid-19 Safety Protocol in the last 16 months.
In accordance with the data obtained from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), between June 2020 and September 30, 2021, the Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) has recovered more than RS1.98 Crore penalty from 46,260 residents because it does not wear a mask.
Similarly, RS70.14 Lakh Fine was obtained from 2,444 shop owners for violating strange rules imposed during locking within the city limits.
The Civic police also sentenced the owners of the wedding building, lawn and shop owner because they did not comply with the Covid-19 protocol and apply more than RS1.95 Crore as a penalty.
Despite paying a very large amount, many Nagpurians can still be found to adventure in public places without bothering to follow the Covid safety protocol.
