Pipakothi (Motihari): Venkaiiah Naidu vice president on Sunday advised students, who had fainted from Dr.
Rajendra Prasad Central Agriculture University (DRPCAU), to fight and excel in their domain and contribute to the country’s growth.
Overcoming the Second DRPCAU Convocation at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Horticulture and Universities Universities here, Naidu emphasizes the need to promote the agro-based industry in rural areas to create employment opportunities for young people.
Referring to the phenomenon of reverse migration from cities to villages during the Covid Pandemic, he said entrepreneurship on agriculture can greatly benefit the Indian economy by creating jobs in which areas they are most needed.
Naidu said that he was the pleasure for him to be part of the meeting in “Historically important Champaran land” where Mahatma Gandhi had committed his first Satyagrah to support poor farmers in 1917.
Vice President thanked the Agriculture Minister Union Radha Mohan.
Singh to change Pipachothi is the center of agricultural education and research.
“His business is in harmony with the vision of Bapu to put farmers’ interest in everything,” Naidu said.
Pipakothi has been home to many farmer-centric institutions, such as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Horticulture and Forestry and the Center for Excellence in Embryo Transfer Technology.
He appreciates DRPCAU to maintain high educational standards.
“In the past, Nalanda University and Vikramshila University made Bihar become a source of inspiration and enlightenment.
The two universities have played an important role in making India ‘Vishwaguru’,” Naidu said.
He welcomed Drpcau’s decision to start a technical and entrepreneurial oriented course in the production of mushrooms.
“The incubation center of the University Startup will help students start their own business,” Naidu added.
He said the ‘Sukhet Model’, innovative ideas about Drpcau where waste and dirt were collected from homes and then converted to Vermicompost (organic organic fertilizer), has been placed by PM Narendra Modi in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program.
Overall 47 university students were awarded the gold medal at the meeting, including six by Naidu.
The Vice President also inaugurated the Development of Pandit Deen Dayal Administration Upadhyay Horticulture and Forestry, two new hostels (each for girls and men) and the center of excellence on breeds and custom conservation and conservation.
He put the foundation for several buildings to be built with RS 100 Crore expenditure.
Overcoming the meeting, CM Nitish Kumar said the state government had carried out a lot of work in agriculture in the last 17 years.
“Agriculture is the main pillar of the country’s economy.
We are working on the state map of the state and production of wheat, rice and corn has doubled,” CM said.
Other people who attended the event included Governor Phagu Chauhan, Deputy CM Renu Devi, Minister of Agriculture State Amrendra Pratap Singh, Minister of Law Pramod Kumar, former Minister of Union Radha Mohan Singh and Director General of ICAR, New Delhi, Trilochan Mahapa.
