Chennai: Retired Corruption Supervisors Police Nallamma Naidu, who played a role in getting the former Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa, his friend V K Sasikala and Relatives Sasikala Irilavarasi and VN Sudhakanan were imprisoned in a corruption case, died on Tuesday.
He is 74 years old.
The problem of corruption was revealed after the former UNI Minister Subramous Swamy complained that Jayalalithaa’s assets had increased from Rs 2.6 Crore to Rs 66.65 Crore.
After this, the Directorate of Precautions and Anti-Corruption began investigating this problem.
After a preliminary investigation, DVAC registered a case in September 1996.
Nallamma Naidu, who was the additional supervisor of the police, was assigned as an investigative officer.
He got a search warrant to find a place to stay Poes Garden Jayalalithaa, and the raid lasts for five days.
His team seizes valuables, including gold and diamond jewelry, dozens of silk sari and hundreds of shoes and chappals.
Based on the evidence collected by Naidu, Sasikala, ilavarasi and Sudhakanan made together accusing in the case of Jayalalithaa.
He submitted a chargesheet in June 1997.
This case was transferred to Bengaluru in 2003.
While the trial court in Bengaluru punished all four, the Karnataka High Court then burdened them.
The Special Court in 2014 held Jayalalithaa and others guilty of corruption and sentenced him four years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 100 Crore.
The Karnataka High Court in 2015 ruled that the belief of AIADMK Supremo by a special court suffered weakness and unsustainable in law.
The Karnataka government then appealed this at the Supreme Court, who found Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakakanlance guilty.
The former head minister died at that time.
Others must serve the term prison.
Naidu has written a book in Tamil about anti-corruption, titled “En Kadamai”.
