Palghar: The newly married couple allegedly stabbed by unknown people in their homes in Maharashtra, said the police on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 2am on Saturday in the Nallasopara area, said the Senior Inspector of the Tulinj Police Station, Rajendra Kambu.
While the 24-year-old man and his wife, 22 years old, fell asleep, the defendant was allegedly bankrupt to their home and attacked them with a knife, he said.
After hearing their shouts, some neighbors rushed there and brought a partner to the hospital where both were being treated, the official said.
According to a preliminary report, the woman’s ex-lover came to Nallasopara from Uttar Pradesh to take revenge from him, the police said.
The police also found several messages that threatened on the Woman Whatsapp account.
Police Tulinj has registered a case against unknown people in the provisions of the Indian criminal code, the official said, added that efforts to track the perpetrators.
