Hyderabad: Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad in collaboration with the Center for Animal Law and Humane Society International / India launched India’s first teacher course in animal law on Wednesday.
This two-year course aims to meet increasing needs for trained professionals in the animal protection sector, to provide knowledge of the need to protect animals and to equip students with the legal aspects of animal protection.

Teacher courses will help provide a deep legal understanding of the largest alarming areas in connection with animal welfare in India and global problems arise.
It will also include laws relating to the prevention of cruelty of animals, criminal procedures, wildlife laws and other policies that directly affect animal welfare, and how to report crimes against animals.
“Through this program, Nalsar aims to create experts, both lawyers or other professionals, in the sector sector that serves animal protection and specializes in aspects of animal law legal in India, and internationally recognized laws,” said Alokparna Sengupa , Managing the Director of HSI / India and the honorary director for the Center for Animal Law.
The program curriculum is made specifically to meet the needs of animal welfare and advocates and lawyers.
Students listed for this course will get hours access to reading materials, presentations and lecture videos on online platforms developed specifically for courses.
“This is an extraordinary opportunity to understand the legal pattern and jurisprudence of animal protection problems and animal welfare, and to be well equipped to deal with practical and contemporary aspects and challenges faced in the field,” added Sengupta.
Previously in 2019, Nalsar University of Law had launched a Postgraduate Diploma in Animal Law.
The application for the new open master course and the last date for reception was August 16, 2021.
