Name of Government PSI at each station to check Dhirios in Goa

Panaji: Goa Police have appointed police sub-inspectors in each police station responsible for all cases of cruelty of animals.
The move occurred after an organization approached the Bombay High Court in Goa accused the government to close the eyes to the bull (Dhirios).
Orders, issued by SPS District, stated that this PSI must provide all assistance to district public officials to prevent cruelty towards animals.
Psi Porvorim and Margao are nodal officers for each district.
South Goa accounts for doubling cases of illegal bulls as registered in North Goa.
Director of Animal Husbandry and Animal Service Dr.
Agostinho Misquita told the High Court that most of this fight occurred in the Colva police station jurisdiction.
Colva Pi Melson Colaco held a meeting with the Bull owner in his jurisdiction and tried to educate them on the provisions of the prevention of cruelty towards the animal law, 1960, also the direction of HC.
“Banteng owners are encouraged to stop pampering themselves in illegal bull activities,” said Misquita in his statement.
He added that as and when the information was received in connection with the bull, the police authority had taken action on time and had been able to prevent it.
Misquita stated that the police have shown a proactive approach and maintain regular patrols in areas that watch bulls.
He added that the staff and police station officers knew the legal provisions and assessment of the High Court.
The community for the prevention of cruelty in animals (SPKA) in the two districts was notified in 2020.
SPCAS and the Welfare Council of the State Animal, chaired by the ministerial head, dedicated to the promotion of animal welfare and the implementation of the direction of the High Court, the HC was told.
The terms of action “are being seen at the highest level of the state of the country,” said the government.
People for animals (PFA), through his president, Norma Alvares, and represented by Anamika Gode, was submitted to the High Court that the country’s authority was not in proactively enforcing a bull ban in the state, and added that there had been an unprecedented increase Bull battle because locking began to lift.
The Petitioner stated that Dhirios had become a routine incident in several villages in Goa – especially Cansaulim, Colva, Utorda, Benaulim and Varca in South Goa, and Arambol and Mandrem in North Goa – with several bulls detained every weekly.
“Even though there was a wide crowd watching this bull fight, the government and the police did not seem to be aware of the same thing.
However, there was a little effort to stop them.
Therefore this disgust petition,” PFA was submitted to the High Court.
The PFA attached several news reports, including at least six by TOI between January and August 2021, on the bull fighting around Goa and Bulls died as a result.
The Petitioner is looking for a monitoring committee for the two districts to submit a quarterly monitoring report that shows compliance and enforcement of the Dhirio ban, and for appointed officers in each district with a telephone number that can be reached on regular calls and whatsapp to ensure that they will occur.
