Names Nggil Pool After Olympian Sajan

Cuddalore: NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has honored by naming Olympian Sajan Prakash Aqua thereafter 50metre facilities and swimmers present a cash award of Rs 5 lakh.

He began practicing in swimming in Neyveli City Club.
Shantymol remains the driving force behind his success.
A former athlete, he competed in a distance of 100m and 200m World Junior Championships in 1987 and Asia.

The company, which has a tradition of encouraging sports and nurture sportsmen, also announced a cash award of Rs 5 lakh each to two other Olympians – Revathi Veeramani and C a Bhavani devi.
When addressing the meeting, Prakash remember conjunction with Neyveli as a hometown boy, who began swimming at the age of five years in the collection of the city.
“I am proud and ever grateful for Nlsil sports facilities, swimming coach I Thoppan and Saji Joseph Sebastian, and my mother, because it makes me an Olympics,” he said.
Postal Department also honored by releasing MyStamp Prakash, an initiative to recognize achievement by scoring their thumbnail images in postage stamps.
Kumar MyStamp released before the post office supervisor (division Cuddalore) Murugan.
Kumar stated that swimming will be adopted as the company’s main sports activities and guaranteed to develop world-class swimming facilities in the city.
He said the company also will build a world-class infrastructure to promote track and field, gymnastics and a variety of indoor and outdoor events.
“Travel Sajan is the story of a remarkable resilience and sporting excellence.
He is a role model for young people and an inspiration to all athletes who are aspiring in Neyveli and surrounding villages,” said Kumar.
Previous Prakash rallied cheering with her mother and coach in an open jeep which includes 2 km in the city.
CISF Marathon Runners, a former athlete and school children joined the Cavalcade.
Prakash represent India at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
He is the first Indian swimmer in violation of the Olympic qualifying mark ‘A’ to qualify for the match Tokyo.
He finished 24th overall in the 200m butterfly event at the Tokyo Olympics.
He has taken part in more than 40 international events.
He was hailed as the best athlete of the 35th national games in 2015.
The eight-time national champion, he holds 12 national records.
