Namma Metro to launch one country, one card

Bengaluru: Metro Namma passengers can immediately use the Common Common Mobility Card (NCMC) as well as QR-Code-based tickets.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has installed one or two gate collection of automatic rates (AFC) at each metro station phase 1.
The new AFC gate accepts the QR code and the NCMC open loop.
Metro Station Phase 2 already has NCMC and QR-Code Compliant AFC Gates.
BMRCL officials said they were ready to launch NCMC.
“We are waiting for the date cm for the launch of NCMC.

All tests and trials have been completed.
Passengers will be able to use the NCMC card at all stations after being launched.

He said all the AFC gates at Phase 1 station will receive QR and NCMC code gradually.
Under the QR-based ticket plan, BMRCL will allow users to buy tickets through their mobile application and will also provide paper tickets through the ticket counter.
Application / paper tickets will display the QR code, which can be tapped in QR allows the AFC gate at the metro station.
After operating, commuting no longer needs to carry a smart card or token.
Universal open-loop cards and can be used to shop and pay for parking, and can be integrated with other modes of transportation such as BMTC, taxis or autos.
While the loop card is closed, as currently used in Metro Namma, cannot be used for other purposes.
However, BMTC is not ready to receive NCMC because it needs to change the existing electronic ticket machine (ETM).
At present, 72% of metro passengers use smart cards and 28% tokens.
However, tokens, which contain chips that can be scanned at the AFC gate to enter, expensive to get and need sanitation after each use.
In fact, many passengers also lost their tokens.
However, the process is without contact with printed QR-Code tickets / cellular applications.
