Mumbai: Minister of State House in Walse Patil on Tuesday convinced a high-level legislative assembly to be carried out into leading MPS and MLAS tapping by state institutions.
He spoke in response to questions raised by former speaker and president of Nana Patole Congress.
Patole accused that during the BJP government between 2014 and 2019, the cellphone of leading politicians was illegally tapped for political reasons.
“I have held a senior bureaucrat meeting and IPS officers to find more information about complaints with telephone tapping.
I have taken serious records from all episodes,” Walse Patil said.
He said that in accordance with the rules, it is necessary to secure permission from competent authority for telephone supervision, and when looking for permission, the name of the person who telephone will be under supervision must be clearly declared, along with the purpose of supervision.
But from patole statements, there seems to be no such procedure followed, he said.
Patole is allegedly, “In 2016-17, my cellphone was under supervision, along with a telephone call from several lawmakers and legislators.
I found that while the amount under supervision was mine, it was named Amjad Khan.
Then it was stated that Khan was involved in Narcotics smuggling.

“Patole also accused the threat to the leaders of Congress and NCP seniors.

After complaints about telephone tapping, Anil Deshmukh has been, during his tenure as a Minister of Home Affairs, established a committee consisting of Commissioner of Journal (Intelligence) Amitesh Kumar and Head of the Additional Secretary of Shrikant Singh to conduct an investigation.
