Mysuru: Nanjangud Taluk Administration and City City Council officials on Sunday destroyed several illegal structures built by penetrating the road behind private schools in the city.
This step followed a demonstration held by the locals, demanding the dismantling of illegal structures.
They accused some influential families have broken the road, causing congestion.
Recently, the state government has announced a project to develop roads with an estimated cost of 1.3 crore.
According to the authorities, it is a 60-foot road and illegal construction has appeared on both sides of the road.
Some encroachment eliminates its constructibility for their own actions by officials.
Local Mla B Harshavardhan, who visited the place, notifies that there are no questions about protecting all types of illegal encroachment.
Drive is done under strict police security.
“The work of road development will begin from Monday,” said Tahsildar MK Shivamurthy.
