Naravane’s army head asked personnel to study statecraft from ancient Indian texts

Hyderabad: Indian soldiers will draw lessons from organizing countries as seen in the ancient Indian texts to make themselves stronger.
Army Chief of Staff General MM Naravane said he had to focus on this ‘ancient texts having a universal application.’ Naravane Gen spoke in a national webinar organized by the Defense Management College in Secunderabad, a Main Institute for Tri-Armed Forces Training Services on Thursday.
The theme of the National Webinar ‘India Ancient Knowledge System: Relevance to national security and defense management ‘”Study of a large repository of ancient Indian knowledge with greater accuracy and attract lessons from contemporary relevance of them,” said the head of the military.
These webinars will discuss cultural concepts, civilization and nation as mentioned in ancient Indian texts and also bring out ‘various aspects as a constituent of national forces’.
Strategic culture, constitutional principles, the use of strength and India approach to making foreign policy will be discussed during the two-day event.
Veterans, and serving armed forces officers including people from friendly foreign countries will be part of the discussion.
The National Seminar is an annual event conducted at the defense management high school and focuses on contemporary issues of strategy and management.
“Our ancient texts have a universal application and drawing the right lessons will help us not only in strengthening our cultural values, but also in building credible national security architecture.”
