New Delhi: Union Minister Narayan Rane said Tuesday Chipi Airport in the Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra will be inaugurated by the Jyotiraditya Scindia minister on October 9, a few days after Shiv Sena announced a similar program by Uddhav Thackeray’s main minister.
The announcement of Rane could cause fresh struggles between him and Sena, his former party.
“In October 9, at 12:30 a.m., civilian minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will inaugurate Chipi Airport.
I, along with local representatives, will also be present for the event,” Rane, who holds a medium, small and micro company portfolio, said at the conference pers.
The announcement came after Vinayak Raut, Shiv Sena MP from Sindhudurg-Ratnagiri, said the airport would be inaugurated by the Head of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray in October 7.
“The inauguration of the Sindhudurg Airport (Chipi) must be held on October 7, 2021 and the head.
Minister of Maharashtra Hon’ble Shri.
@ Officeofut has been asked to direct the relevant official, “Raut tweeted on September 4 after the meeting with Thackeray.
When asked about this, Rane said he wasn’t sure on the basis of what Sena made an announcement and if Rau spoke to the concerned minister.
Rane said that in 2014 – when he was a cabinet minister in the Maharashtra government – that the airport was completed because of the efforts entered by him.
He said even now when the airport must be operated, he committed follow-up with the Civil Service Ministry.
Attacking the state government, he said it could not even finish the road approach to the airport at Rs 35 Crore.
When asked whether Thackeray would be invited to the event, Rane said it was not necessary that the main minister must remain present for the event.
In September 2018, the Authority Airport Sindhudurg conducted a trial flight and 10-seat Falcon 2000 aircraft with three members of the crew landed in Chipi.
This airport is located in the beautiful Konkan area.
This will help increase tourism and accessibility to South Konkan and Western Maharashtra sections.
Rane, a former Sena man who has also been the first Minister of State, was arrested last month for his comments to Thackeray.
He was then given a guarantee.
Rane had left Sena for about 15 years, blamed Thackeray to leave.
Former chairman of the minister, who recently joined BJP, pulled his strength from the belt of Konkan.
Shiv Sena also has a strong base in this region.
