Hyderabad: The crackdown of fighting drugs in the city has caused changes in tactics by the gang.
At least seven gangs operating here sell goods in the city while based in other metros such as Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi.
“All seven gangs mostly become cocaine smuggling.
Some also go to MDMA.
After several arrests in Hyderabad, they have taken the ‘hit and run’ model.
They live in other metros and based on orders they come to Hyderabad, give and return,” said A major official of the Excise Enforcement Department.
Most of these smugglers have jumped over guarantees or have not been arrested, according to the Doksi of Telangana Excise Enforcement, a copy available with TOI.
One of the most prominent traders is the Gang of Ebuka against who the case is registered in Golconda, Ameerpet, Musheerabad Ad Musteerabad Ad Musterabad Namdally.
The gang was led by Divine Ebuka Suzee, a Nigerian, who jumped between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Some members of the gang escaped, including those identified as Dandy believed to be in Mumbai.
Gang suppliers are Brazil using select names.
Every gang operating in the city has connections in various parts of the country.
The gang led by Bernard alias Ben has a connection at Andhra Pradesh and Puduchery; Ezhe Chidi and Saeed Gang have Delhi and Goa links; Peterson Gang, Chuks Gang and Gang Lesmm operate from Bangalore and Mumbai.
The gang was led by emmanuel Umudu and James Morrison covered five accused of running away.
These gangs sell every gram of cocaine with around Rs 6000-7000 in Hyderabad and other Metros.
While the cocaine sold here comes from the Mexican drug cartel and Colombia, heroin is being smuggled from Afghanistan through South Africa and Qatar, officials said.
