Mumbai: Narcotics Narcotics Manufacturing Unit which was run from a farm lawyer house in Kolhapur was brought by Mumbai police on Tuesday.
A team of antarinotika cells recovered 120GM Mephedrone, or MD, 38.7KG raw materials for manufacturing other than manufacturing machines – collectively worth Rs 2.35 Crore.
While lawyers, Rajkumar Rajhuns – the visit card said he was a high court advocate – in the escape, two people were arrested in connection with this case.
What caused drug bust was the first arrest, from a woman from Sakinaka, on Friday.
The 35-year-old woman, which was only identified as Maglin, held with 50GM MD.
He told the police that he bought a medicine from a lawyer’s house in Kolhapur.
Maglin-also known as Christina alias Aayesha aka Simran – is a former lawyer client.
Lawyers were used to supply drugs to city vendors, said the police team faned the farmhouse located in Chandgad Taluka where they restored narcotics, raw materials and manufacturing equipment.
The caregiver of the place, Nikhil Ramchandra Lohar (29), was also arrested.
The woman and caregivers were produced at the Mumbai Court on Wednesday.
They have been sent to police detention until Friday.
“A farmhouse, which is spread in at least 4,000 square feet of land, is fully covered and guarded from the outside world,” said an officer.
“It was mentioned as poultry and a goat farmhouse.” Lawyers, who were originally from Kolhapur, were used to bring raw materials from Mumbai to produce drugs, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Dutta Nalawade.
“He used to produce the medicine itself.
While returning to Mumbai, he will get a narcotics in his car.
He has been in this business for three Yesars,” added Nalawade.
The caregiver, paid a monthly salary between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000, had told the police that the drugs were supplied to at least half a dozen binders in and around Mumbai.
Lawyers have come into contact with Smaglin a few years ago.
He took him to the farmhouse, police said.
Rajhuns has a rented office in Andherhi with at least four junizers who work there.
“We will look for workers and investigate their properties and bank accounts,” Nalawade said.
The police said he used to take criminal and SRA related cases.
Rajhuns’s father, also a lawyer, practice in Belgavi.
The police team was supervised by the Commissioner with the Milind Bharambe and DCP Nalawade with officers Sanjay Chavan, Lata Sutar, Dahiphade, Wahid Pathan, Siddharam Mehtre, Farid Khan and Suresh Bhoye.
They were assisted by personnel from Kolhapur police and forensic science laboratories.
