Thiruvananthapuram: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested two people from state capital in the case of separate drug smuggling through courier services.
NCB has identified the defendant as Akhil and Nishad.
Both are recipients to whom the parycit is intended to.
According to NCB, the arrest was made as part of an inquiry in drug confiscation sent through courier services from Bengaluru.
On November 11, the NCB official from the Bengaluru Zonal Office intercepted a package containing 40G metamfetamine, dangerous synthetic drugs.
The package should reach Akhil in Thiruvananthapuram.
After this lead, NCB officials reached the city and took Akhil.
Nishad was arrested by NCB sub-office officials in Kochi after they intercepted other parcels too.
However, this time, the officials waited until the delivery reached the recipient at Chirayinkezhu before intercepting the package and captured the accuser on November 16.
The gift contained amphetamines, 25 methaqualone stamps.
The NCB authorities say that the two catches are carried out after specific inputs regarding the drug mafia that utilizes parcel services to smuggle contraband goods.
However, they have not been able to build a real relationship between Akhil and Nishad.
Although the source of the procurement of their drugs comes from Bengaluru, they seem to carry out separate operations in Thiruvananthapuram, the NCB source said.
The NCB authorities also said that the drug mafia might have chosen innovative modes such as courier services to smuggle smuggled goods due to bad weather conditions involving heavy rain and cyclones.
Metamfetamine / amphetamine and other synthetic drugs are very strong and dangerous stimulants.
Usually misused as party drugs.
The side effects of these drugs are also very dangerous in the human body because they affect the central nervous system.
Sustainable use can cause heart problems, including heart attacks, memory deviations, hallucinations and seizures, statements issued by NCB.
