NMC has found 4.5 lakh properties in the city during the survey of all properties through a private agent about three years ago.
Among them, 1.60 lakh properties have excessive areas of the area registered in the Civic Agency Property Tax Department.
NMC imposes property taxes according to the property area.

Initially, the NMC has set a property tax collection target of RS 160 Crore for the current financial year, but then he must limit the target to Rs 140 Crore due to a decrease in income due to covid pandemics.
In addition, the Civic body also introduced an amnesty scheme in three phases between August 15 and December 15 last year.
NMC restored a fine of 2% per month in tax contributions from the last day of paying taxes.
