Nashik Corpn to build a shopping complex with school

Nashik: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) who lacked money (NMC), to increase its income, has decided to develop shopping complexes and malls on the land owned by the Civic body in 10 locations.
Public facilities such as schools, hospitals and division offices will also be developed in the complex.
The NMC general body recently gave its approval for a civilian provision proposal to develop shopping complexes under public-private-partnership models (PPP).
NMC does not need to spend money on projects from cash because it will be developed based on PPP.
About 40% of the area built will be given to the NMC to be rented or used for schools, hospitals and other needs.
The developer will use 60% of the area built and will submit it to the civilian body after 30 years.
NMC has empty plots and old traits in the city.
“If we develop this property itself, it will take longer.
But we can develop this property based on PPP in just two years.
In addition, we can get more income through property rentals and we also get public facilities such as schools, houses Division’s illness and office while building a shopping complex, “said Commissioner Jadhav Kailas Jadhav.
An NMC official said that previously the citizenship administration had appointed an agent to prepare blueprints about shopping complexes along with public facilities in 10 different locations.
“But after protest by the Corporators section, we still get a work order to the person’s personal consultant about the project, “he added.
The income of the Civic Agency through various taxes such as property, water and city planning has been greatly affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
NMC expects a drop of RS 300 Crore in revenue for the current financial year.
