Nashik: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has begun to stun the way to repair the hole and stretch damaged due to heavy rains throughout the city.
NMC has set a deadline for one month – until October-end – to repair a hole.
Previously, during the rain, the NMC Public Works Department (PWD) had used murum waste and construction to fill the hole.
Holes, however, reappeared during heavy rain recently, caused discomfort for residents.
Social activists and citizens have expressed their disappointment for poor road conditions.
They urged the citizenship government to repair holes using tar instead.
Shivkumar Vanjari, NMC city engineer, said it was difficult to do tarring work during the rain.
“Therefore, we are for a while we fill the hole and will bring our reconstruction after the rainy season,” Vanjari said.
“The rain has stopped over the past two days and we have started to fill the hole using tar.
We have set a October-end deadline, to fill the hole and improve the damaged road stretch,” Vanjari said.
“We have allocated adequate funds to repair holes and contractors completed through the tender process for all six Civic’s body divisions.
We are waiting for a monsoon to end,” he added.
NMC officials said that the labor period was three years after road construction.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of the contractor to improve and maintain the path during the accountability period.
The Civic body will repair the road after the accountability ends.
“The condition of the road has deteriorated in various parts of the city because of the rain.
We want the NMC administration to speed up work and increase the road,” Amol Patil said, a Nashik resident.
