Nashik: A 15-storey multi-capital transportation building can appear more than 40 hectares on the Sinnar side of the Nashik Road Road train station if the planned Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) works.
Multi-Capital Transport Project will function as a terminal for Nashik Metro, Nashik-Pune high-speed Semi Corridor Rail and also as a depot for city bus services run by Nashik Mahamandal Parifahan Mahamandal Ltd (NMPML).
Commissioner NMC Kailas Jadhav held a meeting with the authorities of Maharail and Mahametro on Tuesday to discuss the plan.
Jadhav will hold a meeting with the Director of Maharail and Mahametro Management to complete the project, in the first week of next month.
This project will also include shopping centers and hotels to make decent projects.
This project will bring non-limited passenger transfers.
The existing Nashik Road train station will have access to multi-capital transportation hubs through the escalator.
Jadhav tells the Toi that they already have 13 hectares on the site, while the remaining 27 hectares must be acquired by Maharail and Mahametro.
“We have discussed this concept with officials from Maharail and Maha Metro.
I will hold a meeting with MDS from both authorities in the first week of next month to complete the project,” Jadhav said.
He added that once the project was completed, a consultant would be appointed to prepare a detailed project report on the project.
The built-up area project is expected about 4 square meters of lakh.
Maha Metro is executing the proposed Metro Tyred Nashik project.
Minister of Finance Union Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the supply of the RS 2,092 crore budget.
Now, the project is waiting for the union cabinet nod.
Electric coach AC rubber-tyred with the capacity to carry around 300 passengers will ply in two corridors elevated, stretching 32km.
In addition, NMC has a plan to build a bus depot in a place adjacent to the Nashik Road train station for city bus services.
But after the multi-capital transportation hub plan, NMC has stopped the works of the bus depot proposed for city bus services.
