New Delhi: Former President APJ Abdul Kalam died today in 2015.
Kalam, a aerospace scientist by the profession, served as President of the 11th India, from 2002 to 2007.
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu , He finished school from Schwartz Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram.
He graduated with physics from Saint Joseph’s College.
Then he pursued aerospace engineering at Madras Institute of Technology.
In his professional career, he had long been associated with Isro and Drdo.
His most significant works include the development of Indian ballistic missiles and launched vehicle technology, which made him achieve it ‘human missionil sobriquet.’ He played a central role in one of the most important nuclear tests in India, Pokhran-II.
For his work in science and politics, he was awarded the ‘Bharat Ratna’, Indian highest civil honor.
He is widely regarded as ‘People’s President’.
Kalam collapsed and died of a clear heart attack on July 27, 2015, 83 years old, while giving lectures at IIM-Shillong.
BJP President JP Nadda gave awards to former President Kalam at the commemoration of his sixth death.
