Ahmedabad: National Medical Council (NMC) aims to conduct a national test exam (next) for the last year of MBBS students from 2023, the main source said close to development.
Examined modalities have been completed, the source added.
The source said that the decision in this case was taken at a meeting held by the Union of the Ministry of Health and family welfare held on June 10 to review the work carried out by the National Medical Commission, the State Medical Education Regulator.
The Commission has passed the resolution to regulate the inspection cell and the steps taken to accelerate the approval process, said the source.
The clear image is expected to appear in the next six months or more.
The exam will be a general feasibility and entrance test to provide a license to practice treatment and operation to students who have cleared the MBBS study and do their medical internship program.
Also, the exam tends to function as an entry test to enter the PG medical degree program, replacing the national feasibility test (PG).
About 1.40 lakh students took the Neet PG exam last year.
The qualification criteria for Neet (PG) is a score of 50 percentiles.
“Decisions are in line with the overall plan of the central government for one country, one test,” said the source.
Then it will be an online exam and paper questions will be based on the syllabus of a medical program.
The next question paper will only consist of MCQ -Type questions.
