PANAJI: An important visit of the 2-day Party Bharatiya Janata (BJP) National President J P Nadda to the state has been canceled because the urgent meeting in Delhi followed the reshuffle of the workers’ cabinet.
This is the second time Nadda’s visit to the country has been canceled.
State President BJP Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that Nadda called him on Sunday morning to cancel his visit.
“Nadda will tell the new date for his visit,” he said.
With Nadda’s visit, BJP wants to set a rolling ball for the election of upcoming assembly.
Nadda should discuss strategies to win polls 2022 and decide on the alliance.
Even if the State Executive Committee has decided to oppose the next assembly selection itself, the option is still open.
This problem is likely to be discussed with the national president before making a final decision.
In 2012, when BJP challenged the election in alliances with MGP, they got an absolute majority.
In 2017, BJP was reduced to 13 of 21 after they yelled the bond of alliance with MGP and contested independently.
