Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Monday gave permission to Madhukant Pathak, the President of the Jharkhand Athletics Association accused of the 34th National Games fraud, to go to Tokyo for the Olympics.
While hearing the request submitted by Pathak, the court ordered that his passport be released by the High Court to allow him to travel abroad.
However, Pathak had to submit his passport in front of the High Court in Ranchi after returning, said HC.
Pathak was accused of being the 34th national game fraud and was a treasurer of the Games Organizing Committee organized by Jharkhand in 2011.
He also led several other committees under the Committee.
The Committee has made a major expenses to develop infrastructure and other facilities to host the game and then it was found that as many as RS 28.38 Crore was embezzled with the name of purchasing equipment, sports equipment and equipment.
The exact accounting document is not equipped and Pathak is treasurer responsible for monitoring accounts.
This case was investigated by the anti-corruption bureau that handed over the charging sheet against Pathak.
He was detained in June 2018 and then guaranteed by the High Court on October 4, 2018.
The High Court then imposed a condition in Pathak to deposit his passport for his release.
Pathak will submit a request to release his passport stored before the High Court and with the effort that he will submit his passport after returning.
