‘Nat’l policy frame about suicide prevention’

Rajkot: Kutch-based suicide prevention forum, which plays an important role in forming a national platform to fight the silent killer, has struggled for almost eight years now to form a national suicide prevention strategy.
Among the many activities aimed at preventing suicide in Gujarat, the recent group took the initiative to regulate Shiva SiPV every Monday at Shiva temples that help spread mental detention messages and prevent depression.
Dr.
Devjyoti Sharma Psychiatrist, who is also part of the National Killing Prevention Forum, told TII that the group had demanded the formation of national policies to prevent suicide from 2014.
“I am part of efforts throughout the world to prevent international agents such as the Psychiatric World Congress And also other international associations.
Reply to our advice, the government has said that it is being considered and if the policy is finally formed, the government will also form an action plan to combat suicide, “he said.
According to the forum, the policy will force the administration to start evidence-based suicide prevention activities.
In the current situation, if suicide, the file is closed after an accidental death is registered in this case.
The policy will invite various studies in age groups, profession people who commit suicide and how it can be prevented.
