Thane: A 17-year-old boy had been detained in Panvel by Police Navi Mumbai for allegedly stealing a motorcycle and Autorickshaw, an official said on Thursday.
After his detention, a total of three autorickshaws were stolen and motorbikes, collectively worth around Rs 2.10 lakh, recovered from him, police said.
The teenage actor, who lived in the local slum, was caught driving an autorickshaw which was stolen on Tuesday night by police patrol forces, Senior Inspector Ajaykumar Landge from the City Panvel police station.
“The police have received a tip-off that the child below stole a car, after what action was taken to him.
During his interrogation, he revealed that he was also involved in the theft of motorcycle and autorickshaw in Navi Mumbai’s Panvel, Koparghairie and Kharghar, the police station,” he said.
Separate violations under the IPC part 379 (theft) were registered at this police station, they said.
Detained teenagers have been sent to the waters’ house, police said.
