Navi Mumbai: NRI coastal police have ordered two truck drivers and their employers because they allegedly transported the sand which was excavated illegally without paying royalties for sand mining in Panvel Creek on complaints by Circle Tehsildar Office Ganesh Telange.
On January 25, at 5 pm, the vigilance troops intercept a truck on Jalan Uran-Laktur and found four Kuningan sand quantities worth Rs 56,380.
When asked about the receipt of payment of royalties, the driver darted.
Then at 11 o’clock at night, Telanke and his team caught a truck loaded with five brass quantities ‘washing sand’ worth 70,475.
When Pradeep Driver Verma said he did not pay royalties for sand transportation, Telanke took the truck key.
But Whenthey moves forward, he uses a backup key and leaves.
