Navi Mumbai: In the main bust, the Directorate of Income Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai has confiscated nearly 300 kg of illegal medicine heroin of Rs 2,000 Crore from the Port of Nhava Sheva Navi Mumbai.
According to Dri, the consignment was being imported from Afghanistan and arrived in Mumbai through Iran.
“A total of 293.81 kg of heroin was restored from six Gunny bags and confiscated under the provisions of the NDPS Law, 1985.
It is estimated that the consignment value of this smuggle heroin will be more than the RS 2,000 Crores in the International Illegal Market,” said DRI Mumbai’s statement.
The opportunity was smuggled into the city in six Gunny bags among a total of 350 bags, with the consignment of the talcization of powder.
“Six barking bags with the same weight and have a slightly different sign and filter pattern found intelligently hidden in different locations in the container.
In testing with detection of drugs, substances in all six Gunny bags were found as heroin,” Dri said.
One Prabhjit Singh, the owner of the Punjab company that has imported consignment, has been arrested and will be returned to detention from July 12.
Two colleagues were arrested from Madhya Pradesh too and their statements had been recorded.
