Navi Mumbai: In a rare appearance in Kharghar, bird observers have seen two fine-layered bottomers in sector 16 close to the river, sending positive vibrations about biodiversity regions.
“Two local bird observers are Ramprasad and T Sanjeev bulsara seeing beavers near the river, which is indeed very rare.
We have sent this crowded mammal photos to mangrove cells from the Ministry of Forestry and also to BNHS.
This shows the biodiversity of Kharghar developing , “said Nareshchandra Singh.
Birder S Rambrasad said he was and his co-watcher Sanjeev Bulsara was photographing several birds in sector 16 in the Birding Kharghar area when they suddenly saw beavers navigating waters.
“We are very happy and take some photos before fast-moving beavers can disappear,” he said.
When the image is displayed, experts identify them as finely layered bottoms.
Beavers prefer clean water and they grow rapidly.
These findings show good fish catches in the region.
The Foundation Natconnect, which compiled a list of unique areas for comprehensive MMR biodiversity protection plans, found this development as “very encouraging”.
“We are happy when we heard from Ramprasad about beavers,” said Director Natconnect B N Kumar.
Natconnect has just compiled a list of more than 20 biodiversity properties that need to be preserved as part of the BNHS citizen initiative to protect the ecology of the Mumbai Metropolitan region.
This list includes wetlands, rivers, hills and mangrove forests in MMR Kharghar are very important links in the biodiversity of MMR because they have many birds that land here, regardless of mangroves and wetlands, naturalist said Sarin Tarang, adding that the hill The hill needs to be protected from dry grass that does not need to burn because it endows biodiversity.
Naresh Chandra’s environmental activist said, “We have attracted the attention of almost all authorities for the destruction of mangroves and wetlands in Kharghar.
It is time for biodiversity protected for the interests of the ecological balance of the city,” he said.
Mangroves cell heads, Virendra Tiwari said, “Otter is usually seen in the Ratnagiri area and Sindhudurg.
If they are now found in Kharghar, then it is a good sign for the environment.”
