Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) will conduct strict preventive measures in all city schools after 18 school students and junior colleges in Ghansoli found covid-positive since Friday.
NMMC officials added that if there were family members of students recently returned from abroad, these students had to re-carry out covid-related tests.
Commissioner NMMC Abhijit Bangar said the junior school and college will remain closed for the next eight days until all students and staff are tested for Covid.

I also instruct that masks and use of hand sanitis are mandatory,” Bangar said.
While 16 students have been tested positively on Friday, two more found covid positive on Saturday.
Tracing contacts are also conducted by examining family members affected.
Speaking with the Times of India, Deputy Commissioner of Municipal (Education) Jaydeep Pawar said: “So far, we have tested more than 80% of students from the Institute in Ghansoli after 16 students (especially from the 11th standards, while others from the lower class) Found positive.
