Chandigarh: The President of the Punjab Congress Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday appointed four advisors for himself, including MP Congress Fatehgarh Sahib Amar Singh and former DGP Mohammad Mustafa.
Amar Singh, a former bureaucrat, is known as a trust one time Sidhu and the last recently visited Mustafa’s residence immediately after taking over as PPCC’s head.
He was one of the Punjab Parliament members who had met with the minister’s chairman in June and referred to his leadership during the party’s internal chaos.
Previously, he was a Sidhu advisor during his tenure as a minister of local body but had come out of that position because he did not have CM approval.
The 1985 Batch IPS officer, Mustafa hoped to be the police chief of Punjab and had even moved to the court against the appointment of the current Gupta Dinkar, after the promise of the last meeting.
Mustafa’s wife Razia Sultana is a member of the Ministers.
Two other advisers are Pyare Lal Garg, former Registrants of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, and Political Analyst Malwinder Singh Mali.
Incidentally, the announcement came on the day when the Chairman of the Minister Amarinder Singh went to Delhi to meet with the Union minister.
AICC has appointed four presidents of work with Sidhu and now he has set a new precedent by pointing four advisers.
“I hereby appointed four advisors to seek their wise advice as President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee with direct effects.
I personally hold each in terms of high, for their vision and work to imagine a better future for every punjabi,” said the announcement of Sidhu letterhead.
