Chandigarh: Head of Punjab Congress Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday crashed into a politician offering “Lollipops” right in front of the poll, in a clear attack on his party led by his party in the state, and urged people to choose only on the agenda of Punjab’s well-being.
His statement came on the day when Chairman Charanjit Singh Channi announced a deduction of power tariffs of Rs 3 per unit for the domestic sector and increased wealth benefits for government employees.
Overcoming the Hindu Mahasabha meeting here, Sidhu wondered if anyone would talk about the country’s welfare.
“Those (politicians) offer lollipop …
this is free, it’s free, which happened in the past two months,” he said.
The cricket-turned politicians asked people to question the politicians in connection with how they would fulfill the promises.
Emphasizing the road map for state revivals and welfare, he asked people to vote for the development agenda, not for “lollipops”.
“There should be a question in your mind whether the intention is only a government formation or gathering after speaking, making 500 promises or state welfare,” said Sidhu.
He said politics had become a profession and it was no longer a mission.
“This is my goal to bring back the trust of people, who have faded from a politician,” said Congress leader while showing that parents do not want their children to become politicians today.
He said he would die but never sold Punjab interest.
Sidhu said Punjab had an extraordinary debt of Rs 5 Lakh Crore and blamed the government that ruled the country for the past 25-30 years for this.
City committees and home breaks the government mortgaged, he said, adding that this debt must be paid by the state community.
“Whether there is a conversation about compromise, Sidhu throws away the position so that your trust is not damaged.
For me, it is ‘Dharm Yudh’ (battle principle) and I cannot be defeated in this ‘Dharm Yudh’, I know this,” he said.
The Congress leader also took those who said the country’s coffers were filled.
“If it’s the situation, then give a 50,000 rs as a salary to the ETT teacher (basic teacher training) and give it (money) to the contractual teacher,” he said.
