CHENNAI: Indian Navy is put to induct modern helicopters for its fleet as part of its attempt to increase the combat capacity of boats at sea,” Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Naval Command, stated on Friday.
Talking in the passing out parade of the 96th Enforcement Transformation Course in Naval Air Station INS Rajali in Arakkonam, Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh stated,”Aims are poised to create a modern and powerful air component to improve our punch in sea” With projected purchase under way, several new resources will combine the helicopter fleet such as naval utility tanks and 2 MH 60R helicopters, ” he added.
“While the very long range maritime aircraft such as P8-I, IL-38 and HALE UAVs provides persistent surveillance in long ranges in our regions of interest, so it’ll be the boat’s integral helicopters, that can be force multipliers for its surface platforms in sea adding into the fleets daytime and nighttime combat ability,” he explained.
This has been shown in several fast exercises, search and rescue or HADR assignments and several different operations, ” he explained.
In addition, he explained INS Rajali was among the most significant air channels of Indian Navy and has since affirmed the Army and the Air Force.
