Patna: As part of the Indian Biodiversity Award 2021, Valmiki Tiger Best Champaran (VTR) reserve received a certificate of appreciation in the category of ‘Conservation of Wild Species’ on the occasion of Rhino World Day on Wednesday.
Awards, joint initiatives from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Changes, National Biodiversity Authorities (NBA), and UN Development Programs, identified and recognized the efforts of individuals, communities, and institutions working towards the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of biological resources.
Dipak Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Principal of the State Environment, Department of Forest and Climate Change, told reporters on Thursday that government organizations in Bihar had received award certificate from the NBA for the first time.
“This is a moment of vanity because of the hard work and efforts of all VTR members have been recognized,” he added.
According to official figures, the number of tigers in the VTR is in the range of 28-37 with a density of 2.5 large cats per 100 km.
VTR officials who are happy to say, “VTR is one of the 14 Indian Indian reserves that get conservation to be guaranteed | Tiger standard accreditation on July 29 this year.
After receiving award certificate and cash prizes for wild species conservation on the World Rhino Day, he has added another fur to the lid.
