Thane: The Court in Maharashtra’s Thane City has issued an inexplicable arrest warrant against former Police Commissioner Mumbai Param Singh with regard to alleged extortion cases registered with him with the local police station.
This order was issued by the Head of Judge Judge R J Tamble two days ago to the Thane Nagar police station, where this case was registered.
Orders become available on Thursday.
As “Defendant Param Bir Singh, R / At: House No: 133, Sector-27 Chandigarh” Charged with a violation including extortion under the IPC 384 section, “You with this directed (for) caught the accusation and produced it before me,” It said.
This case was listed in July against Singh and 28th Bir Bir and 28 including six police officers for allegedly extorting money from the builder.
Other accusations include retired ‘Specialist Meetings’ Pension Pradeep Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Devraj, Assistant Commissioner of Police N T ultimate and Inspector of Rajkumar Kothmire.
Ketan Tanna’s complainant has alleged that when Singh is Police Commissioner Thane between January 2018 and February 2019, the defendant extorted Rs 1.25 Crore from him by calling him to the anti-extortion cell office and threatening to be in a serious criminal case.
Singh was discussed from the position of Police Commissioner Mumbai in March 2021 after the discovery of SUVs with explosives near Mukesh Ambani’s industrialist residence in South Mumbai and arrested the police officer Sachin in this case.
Singh was later accused of later interior minister Anil Deshmukh from corruption.
Two other extortion cases have been registered with IPS officers, based on complaints submitted by other builders.
Singh also faced questions by the Maharashtra anti-corruption bureau and a case filed by a police officer from Akola against him under SC-ST (Prevention of ACT AWCT).
Recently the Maharashtra government has told the Bombay High Court that it did not know its existence.
