PANAJI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided three places in Goa and Maharashtra and intercepted three people, including one Nigerian Nigeria, and confiscated around 45 kg of various types of narcotics.
Drugs confiscated include codein syrup, commercial number of LSD, 105g heroin, 400g (700 tablets) of nitrazepam, middle number of cocaine, small amount of hydroponics and multi-strain weeds.
In the first case, after receiving the input that Nigeria’s national named David was involved in supplying various drugs such as LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, etc., in and around Parra and Arpora, NCB launched a special drive for identification and arrest of people over the last two days.
Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director, NCB, Mumbai, said that because of the results of the efforts included, NCB, Sub Zone, Goa managed to arrest the suspect in Calangute-Mapapa Road, at 10pm on Monday.
During search, 11 nuances of LSD (commercial quantity) and middle number of cocaine recovered from it.
Wankhede said the defendant was identified as David Chibuike Chisom aka Eze Chukwebuka Joshua, Nigerian residents.
During the investigation, David was arrested on Tuesday.
In the second case, acting based on certain information, the NCB-Mumbai official team launched the operation in Mumbai and won the 60g Multi-strain shoots, also known as Cannabis, hidden in a box of chocolates.
The package came from Canada and was destined for Mumbai, officials said.
The price of multi-strain shoots around Rs 5,000 to RS 8,000 per gram in the illegal market, officials said.
Cannabis strains are pure or hybrid varieties of the genus Cannabis.
Varieties are developed to intensify certain characteristics of plants, or to distinguish tension for marketing purposes, or make it more effective as drugs.
Variations of names are usually chosen by their farmers, and often reflect the properties of plants such as taste, color, odor, or origin of varieties.
In another incident, on the basis of intelligence was developed, the NCB-Mumbai raided a house in the West Byculla, Mumbai, where they recovered 27 kg of cyclist syrup and intercepted two people.
