New Delhi: Two days in front of the Monson Parliamentary session, Rajya Sabha MP and NCP President Sharad Pawar summoned Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Saturday.
“Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sharad Pawar Met PM,” PMO said in a tweet on Saturday.
According to sources, pawar meetings with PM Modi lasted for almost 50 minutes.
The NCP head meeting with PM Modi was present in the background of controversial comments made by the Head of the Maharashtra Congress Nana Patole.
Nana Patole on Wednesday described the pawar as a “remote control” from the Government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) Shiv Sena (MVA) in the state.
Patole also kicked one line when he tried to suggest that the MVA government monitored his movements and claimed Shiv Sena and NCP felt that the ground slipped from under their growing feet.
NCP is the main constituent of the Government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra, led by Sena Shiv Uddhav Thackeray.
Congress is a third ally at MVA.
Monsoon Parliament session The rainy season session will begin on July 19 and continue until August 13.
The leader of the newly appointed house in Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal on Friday met the senior opposition leader including former leader of the Prime Minister and Congress Manmohan Singh, his party partner Anand Sharma and NCP leader Sharad Pawar before the Monsun session.
Interaction with senior opposition leaders is seen as an outreach exercise by the government ahead of the session.
The government has registered 17 new bills to be introduced in sessions, including three to replace the recent incurred procedures.
