New Delhi: The National Commission on Children’s Rights Protection (NCPCR) on Wednesday Writing to Police Delhi and Twitter to take action on the leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi posted a picture of a parent of the 9-year-old girl who was suspected of being raped, killed and forcibly cremated in the Nangal area Old Raya in Southwest Delhi.
NCPCR quoted the provisions of teenage justice and Pocso acted to say that posting pictures of parents, revealing the identity of a dead child, which was a violation of the law.
The Commission has been looking for reports taken by actions from Delhi and Twitter police in this matter and said they must be sent to commissions within three days.
The National Commission for Child Rights Protection (NCPCR) sent a letter to the Twitter resident complaint officer, by saying it received a complaint that the victim’s family photo was posted on Twitter Handle @rahul Gandhi with a statement that they were the father and mother of the child.
“In the photo, the face of the victim’s father and mother can be seen by revealing the girl’s identity,” said the Apex Children’s Rights.
NCPCR has asked for Twitter to take action and delete a tweet from the platform.
NCPCR has also written to Delhi police and seeks actions against Gandhi, saying he violates the provisions of the Youth Justice Act, ACT Pocso and IPC.
In a separate letter to DCP (Southwest), a commission that pays attention to media reports in the case of a small girl has been looking for that it must be ascertained that during the investigation, the identity of the victim was not disclosed.
NCPCR has searched for detailed reports in a case within 48 hours along with evidence of victims, copies of FIR and autopsy reports, actions taken against allegedly accused and copies of Chargesheet.
The Commission has also asked the district judge to submit a report on the details of the case and the process followed so far within 48 hours.
