New Delhi: In the hard action of the industry, the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) on Tuesday ordered the direct closure of all NCR industries that have not been turned to cleaning fuel in industrial areas despite the availability.
CAQM said industrial violations / industrial units would not be allowed to operate until December 12, 2021 and the position will be reviewed for further decisions.
“There is a need that arises for preventive measures, as an extreme emergency problem, to prevent further setback in air quality.
Caqm flying forces will launch special drives and check the site to ensure compliance,” Commission said.
“Enforcement of the direction of the strict commission is ensured and closely monitored by each state and government of Delhi,” he said.
In his official statement, Caqm expressed concern over ‘very poor’ air quality in the capital and NCR.
“Apart from the steps taken in various sectors towards improving air quality in Delhi-NCR, air quality still remains in the ‘very poor’ category to ‘severe’,” he said.
“Given the need to uphold strict actions against deteriorating air quality in the region, commissions believe that there is an urgent need to take further prevention steps, as an extreme emergency problem and very carefully,” Caqm added.
According to the commission command November 11, all industries in the NCR have gas connectivity will only be carried out on gas, industrial failure which concerned will be closed.
It was also directed that all industries in the NCR where available gas connectivity will be transferred to gas and state governments must provide a wise shift date industry.
In addition, the NCR state government – Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, and the Delhi government – were asked to better establish an effective enforcement mechanism, including intensive and sustainable drives, by facing a number of senior teams consisting of senior officers.
The Commission said the flying team stated by him occurred on field visits and “checking” various sites that contributed to the deterioration of Delhi-NCR air quality and reported their compliance with the direction to Caqm.
“The Commission is reviewing progress every day by holding a meeting of reviews with a team of flying teams to take stock situations and take the necessary punishment of the offenders,” he said.
