NCRB: At 39% and 41%, rape & murder see bad levels of confidence

New Delhi: Rioting related cases have registered the lowest level of confidence of 29%, according to the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) report for 2020.
Cruel crimes such as rape and murder, has a very low level of confidence of 39% and 41% respectively.
Statistics compiled by the NCRB at the disposal of cases by police and the court painted a very gloomy picture at the level of confidence which is an indication of the incorrect investigation or the IPC section imposed by the defendant.
In 2020, the total cases related to the riots taken to be investigated by the police were 81,846 and the Chargesheet was submitted in 43,063 cases while 5,19,589 cases were awaiting a trial.
However, total confidence is only available 4,613 cases.
The police have taken 50,258 cases for investigations for the cost of murder and submitted Chargesheets in 24,015 cases.
The delayed murder case for the trial is 2,32,859.
In the case of rape, more than 43,000 investigations began this year and in just 3,814 courts of rape cases punished by the defendant.
The highest confidence (94%) has been in cases related to excise laws.
