New Delhi: Two of the three city corporations in Delhi have been completed below 10 among 48 cities in the country in the specific category of government cleanliness surveys, the results announced on Saturdays.
While North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has been ranked 45, down from 43st positions among 47 cities in Swachh Survekshan 2020, East Corporation stands in the 40th position in the 2021 survey, while the South Korporan remains in slot 31 as before the previous survey .
East Delhi Municipal Corporation Marginally increases its position, because it is ranked 46th in the last survey.
Three city corporations in Delhi have been ranked in the city category with more than 10 lakh populations.
The Delhi Cantonment Board is ranked third in the 2021 survey in the Cantonment Board category.
Indore is held in the cleanest India for the fifth time in a row in the central government annual cleanliness survey.
The second and third position in the ‘Cleanest City’ category of ‘Swachh Survekshan Awards, 2021’ was secured by Surat and Vijayawada.
Patna has been ranked 44th in this category covering 48 cities participating in training.
The poor corporate performance in Delhi in Swayachh 2021 ranked two months after three mayors at a joint press conference confirmed that they planned to make the city “free waste” within a few months.
