NDMC places a sign on households that do not separate waste

New Delhi: Taking strict action against those who did not separate waste despite several warnings, the New Delhi Municipal Board (NDMC) had begun to attach red stickers outside their homes.
If there are no changes considered in 8-10 days, the penal action will be taken based on the guidelines for solid waste management.
Civic’s body claimed to have taken action against 170 properties in Malcha Marg, Jor Bagh, Sarojini Nagar, BK Dutt Colony, Khan Market, Palika, Golf Links, Bhagwan Das Road, Rajdoot Marg, Laxmi Bai Nagar, among others, after carefully watching , “We have reached for occupants and guiding them in separating wet and dry waste.

NDMC also carried out workshops to share methods for home composting in residential areas.
“We have been doing exercises in Kidwai West Nagar, Gole Market and BK Dutt Colony, where we even distribute kits to make compost at home with kitchen waste.
We distribute material, such as coco peat, enzymes and buckets to residents with the help of a NGO.
We have formed the WhatsApp group to circulate information and education material with RWAS and residents, “the official said.
