Nearly 10% Rise in C-Section Shipping in Government Hompon: Data

Nagpur: Comparative data in the last three years in three main hospitals of the Nagpur government showed a 10% sharp leap in the number of section of the Caesarean section.
Especially in the first 4 months of 2021 – when the second-19 covid wave was bringing in chaos, the lower delivery of the Caesarean segment (LSC) increased significantly.
According to the doctor, Covid-19 is not the only reason behind this change.
In Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMCH) and Mayo Hospital, 55% of the delivery in 2021 was LSC, which was significantly more than 40% annual average.
The Mayo Hospital serves a large amount of antenatal care (ANC) of poor and middle class families.
The patient reaches here from the edge for shipping.
However, normal delivery is generally on the higher side here, the doctor said.
“But in the past six months, we did 1,577 shipping from where 870 was C-part.
This is unusual.
To be late Anc’s presentation because Covid’s fear can be one of the main reasons,” said a senior doctor from the Mayo Gynecology Department.
Daga Memorial Hospital is dedicated to care for women and children and patients reaching here from all divisions.
Here, 58.3% of the shipments in 2021 were LSC against an average of three years 44%.
“A total of 2,585 of the 4,430 delivery conducted between January and June 2021 is the delivery of C-section.
Many patients are served in complicated conditions because the doctor should go for surgical delivery,” the doctor said here.
In the Government Medical College (GMCH), 43.7% of total shipments were LSC in 2020.
This percentage increased to 51.3% by 2021 (up to June).
Of the 2,772 shipping, 1,421 is C-section.
Jompo Amal houses such as Seven Sangh Matru and private nursing homes run by the gynecologists attached to the Nagpur and Gynecological Community (NOGS) have also shared similar experiences.
“Uncertainty because Covid-19 is one of the main reasons behind patients who choose C-Sipt,” said Dr.
Alka Mukherjee, President Nogs.
According to him, patients and relatives want the shipping planned to avoid uncertainty in medical facilities and doctors during Covid.
There are many metabolic reasons too.
“Staying at home without exercises increases metabolic problems such as obesity that adds to complications of pregnancy.
Depression is also a reason.
Because of the increasing stress and depression during the second wave, the patient avoids taking risk of taking the risk of their pregnancy by waiting for normal delivery,” added Dr.
Mukherjee.
A veteran in Gynecology Dr.
Natachandra Chimote has told TII in April that a third trimester pregnant woman when playing a positive corona can cause premature delivery even in 28-30 weeks of pregnancy.
“This is a global phenomenon and it also happens locally.
Pre-term delivery is carried out in large quantities through a caesarean section,” he added.
The doctor said that the number of C-SEUTING will gradually decrease with life will occur in post-second normal waves.
But, it will still take the time.
