Ramgarh: About 500 stalls nearby Rajrappa’s Chinnamastika temple, that have been constructed using bamboos and polythene tentsthat have been washed out by the gushing waters of Bhairavi river through the torrential rains brought on by cyclone Yaas for at least two days.
But, no reduction of lives have been reported.
The stalls, that can be sandwiched between the temple complex and also the banks of Bhairavi, market puja things for devotees but because the temple complex is closed for most people as April 22, the stores were shut too.
A senior priest in the temple called Ajay Panda stated that this is not first time stores were ruined in the drains.
“Over a decade before, the water Bhairavi and Damodar rivers has been around the ditch as a result of heavy rain, leading to the stores being washed off,” he further added.
Vinod Kumar, a local vendor, stated that although seasonal imports nearly always ruin the stores, now that the damage extensive.
Uday Kumar, the block development officer of Chitarpur, stated the sellers were requested to not put up their institutions close to the banks of Bhairavi on several occasions before but they didn’t pay heed.
While many vendors have moved into the shopping complex assembled nearby, many others are still promoting puja items from the lake bank.
