Kathar: Purnia Civil Surgeon Dr.
S K Verma on Tuesday said 85.93% of urban communities who qualified had received at least the first dose of the Covid vaccine in the district so far.
“Purnia is far in front of another neighbor district in managing Jabs to a qualified population.
We have so far vaccinated 1,91,641 of 2,23,021 urban populations that meet the requirements in the district, including in Kasba and Banmankhi,” Dr.
Verma said.
Civil surgeons added the deficiency of Covaxin to end in the district because 20,000 doses were supplied on Tuesday.
“We have also received 32,000 covishield doses.
Of the 21.38,118 people who qualified, 8.41.213 or 40% have so far been inoculated in the district,” he added.
Dr.
Verma said the steps were taken to face the possibility of the third wave of Covid pandemic in this district.
“Puskesmas dedicated pediatried covid health dedicated.
Oxygen absorption plant (PSA) with the capacity to produce 200 liters of oxyen per minute has been made functional at the Dhamdaha sub-division hospital.
Two PSA plants with a 1,000-liter output capacity will also appear on campus district hospital, “he added.
