Mangaluru: Even though the dry run for a fast RT-PCR test at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) was carried out successfully and the service was launched on Monday, there would be no flights going to the United Arab Emirates from Mia now.
Flight operators have sent test reports to the UAE Authority for approval.
In the absence of approval until Monday night, a low air express water carrier (AIE) canceled Abu Dhabi flight on Tuesday.
But even after this, only Dubai and Abu Dhabi visa holders who can fly out of Mia and other emirates visa holders can only land in Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah, because Aie operates on goal and Spicejet only operates with Dubai.
The source said Indigo would likely fly to Sharjah so that it relieves expatriate’s misery that holds another resident visa.
The airport source said the cost of RPT-PCR Rapid is Rs 3,200 per head and passengers may have to reach six hours before so the process can be torn down.
Time time after the swab collection will be around 30 minutes.
There are 30 machines installed for this purpose in Mia.
Mia has binded with Apollo diagnostics to offer a fast RT-PCR test to passengers in the airport.
As per the health requirements for passengers bound Gulf, each passenger must have a negative RT-PCR test carried out at the airport four hours before the flight ride.
Passengers have been advised to travel far in advance so that all passengers can be tested in time.
