Chennai: At least nine out of 10 Covid-19 patients in house isolation require oximeter pulses, Minister of Health MA Subramanian said it was interesting for generous and corporations to consider contributions.
“We are not looking for oxygen cylinders, oxygen generators, and tanks.
We want to oximeter pulses so that people can measure their oxygen saturation in the blood and increase the alarm if it falls below 92%,” he told reporters after distributing the credit oximeter to the patient Covid-19 on Thiruvanmiyur, where there is a group of new cases.
Devices such as clips are placed on the finger or ear lobe to measure how much oxygen in the blood.
Small devices use infrared light refraction to measure how well oxygen tie red blood cells to measure the oxygen saturation of peripheral capillary or spo2.
Although most patients have symptoms of minor or no disease at all, it is important for patients to carry out basic tests such as measuring body temperature and oxygen saturation levels.
The patient was told to ensure that the reading of the SPO2 remained consistent at or above 92%.
“If the amount consistently falls below this threshold, family members must call a doctor or 108,” he said.
Patients with oxygen saturation under 92% were treated at a government hospital, he said.
The Greater Chennai Corporation has more than 178 members, including doctors and health workers, in the Tele-Consultation team, who advises patients.
Doctors offer medical advice and recipes, Subamanian said.
“The tele-consultation team works all the time making calls for most patients at least one day,” he said.
On Tuesday morning, from more than 30,843 active cases, around 2,836 were in the hospital.
