Need to increase investment in health care, infra: RBI Guv

New Delhi: Governor of the Bank of India (RBI) reserve on Wednesday highlighted the need for higher investment in the health and infrastructure sectors to ensure sustainable growth in the post-pandemic world.

He said that global recovery was uneven in all countries and sectors.
“The developed economy has been normalized faster behind with higher vaccination speeds and greater policy support.
Emerging and developing countries left behind due to slow access to vaccines and boundaries that bind on policy support,” Das added.
In addition, the Governor of RBI also said that the world witnessed the early signs of recovery from the impact of the pandemic.
“Covid-19 is an event of a river area in our era.
It has caused the destruction of life and widespread livelihoods.
There is very little parallel with this surprise,” he said.
In India, he said, Covid-19 has had an impact on many dynamic economic sectors and encouraged them to choose the adoption of larger new digital technology.
“Pandemic Covid has provided a new boost to companies driven by technology such as Fintech, Edtech and Healthtech which tend to see increased funding activities in the coming years,” said Das.
At the same time, the Indian financial system has changed rapidly to support economic needs, “he added added that recovery was uneven among various sectors.
