Gurgaon: The group of citizens and several Rwa has written to CM Manohar Lal Khattar Khattar for the disposal of open waste, combustion and ‘unscientific’ waste management in the city.
They have been seeking implementation of city resource recovery plans.
In the letter, which was sent recently, residents said the foundation of waste management should not fall only on RWA but must be implemented at the environmental level.
“While we have started working to prepare compost factories in the community, if our environment is still polluted due to lack of resources and management, it has a serious danger to the health of the population,” said Nilesh Tandon, President Unitech Fresco Rwa.
“In licensed colonies, the land must be allocated for community composting.
MCG also needs to be serious about the development of capacity to support the separation in the source,” Chaitali Mandhotra, a member of Rwa from Ardee City.
They have urged the government to intervene intervene and an integrated approach to processing 90% of city waste at the environmental level itself.
At present, every ward in the city produces around 40 tons of waste every day.
“The emphasis of the waste management policy must transition from disposal to the separation of sources, recycling and finally prevention of waste.
In that plan, we have been seeking TPA Tax and the prohibition on disorted waste disposal, drugs, recycled materials and waste with combustion values Height at TPA, “Ruchika Setri Takkar, said the founder of net residents, said.
A senior MCG official said that they worked towards the development of material recovery facilities and composting units in each zone to separate waste.
“We have done this problem,” said Commissioner MCG Mukesh Kumar Ahuja.
