The film has another surprise in it: Kapil Dev made a cameo appearance as a member of the audience that took the ball after a shot cracker by Ranveer Singh, who played a cricket legend in the film.
Characters played by Kapil exclaimed: “Good shot, capil!”

The Indian cricket team, pioneered by Kapil Dev, squared against the Perkasa West Indies in the 1983 World Cup final.
Neena Gupta dated Sir Viv, the West Hindend Batting legend, which was a member of the 1983 Karibi squad led by Sir Clive Lloyd, which was then considered Unbeaten, after winning the first two World Cups.
In the final, Sir Viv scored 33 runs from 28 balls with a strike rate of 117.85 before he was dramatically arrested by Kapil in the delivery of Madan Lal.
Previously, when India played, he proved expensive with the ball – conceded eight walks on one and only on it.

Neena Gupta and Sir Viv started dating in the late 1980s and their daughter, Masaba Gupta, was one of the leading Couturiers in India and also an actor who debuted with Netflix Original, ‘Masaba Masaba’.
Neena completed the shooting section for the film in December 2019.
